One of the deepest canyons in North America, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison measures 2,250 feet deep. The Painted Wall is Colorado's tallest cliff. Stretching for 48 miles, the canyon's deep walls shade a riparian environment along the Gunnison River at the canyon bottom.
