Welcome to this gallery of my personal favorites!

They are favorites for various reasons - it could be the lighting, the color, the tonal range, the composition, the feeling of having "captured the moment", the feeling of having captured the essence of an animal. Often, these are simply a very favorite place of mine to which I return again and again or just an image that stirs a flood of memories or emotion.

With each of these images, I find the end result very satisfying - as if I have accomplished what I set out to say about what was happening in front of my camera at the time I made the exposure. A term called pre-visualization: seeing the end result before ever clicking the shutter. For each of these images, there are numerous fails and alternates that just didn't make the same impact on me. In the end, I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do!

These images were made with virtually every format of camera made, including iPhone, 35mm, medium format, medium format panoramic, 4x5 and 8x10 large format view cameras. Importantly, they are not presented in any particular order.

You'll occasionally find both color and black & white representations of a scene - I love them both! You may also see a vertical versus horizontal presentation of the same scene - again, I find that I love them equally but see them as distinctly different.
