One of my favorite animal portraits, I love many things about this image. The full stare of the fox - attentive yet relaxed, ears forward. Though I was about 30 feet away from him in Starved Rock State Park, he was wonderfully curious as I moved my camera into position. I love the color contrast between his rich orange/red fur and the deep green on moss growing on the sandstone cliff behind him - it reminds me of a portrait background.
