Prairie Storms, Badlands National Park, SD (September 16, 2015, 6:49pm)

I hope to never forget the complete conundrum that was unfolding as we saw this scene. The sun was setting beautifully and in every direction, there were interesting skies. From dramatic sunset underlighting on clouds to this beautiful storm that was forming on the northwestern plains. I spun the camera in every direction, trying to capture the fleeting images that were happening, Sheryl scouting the next moment of drama as I focused on the current.

It was an exhilarating experience. Not only to photographic these scenes, but to watch the beauty of the day's end happening in every corner of the sky.
