The Bisti De-Na-Zin Wilderness is exceptionally remote, though on any given day, 10-25 people visit the area. We did run into a few people and and I got the comment, "no problem being able to spot you!"

My response was, "exactly!" This is an area where you run a high risk of getting turned around - even with GPS - as the signal can be unreliable. So, when they send a rescue helicopter, I want to stick out like a giant, sore thumb.
