A key junction in the remote southwestern section of Death Valley. From this point, an excellent 4-wheel road winds through the isolated hills surrounding Hunter Mountain, the scaling of which is a true 4-wheel adventure.

South of the junction is the incomparable Racetrack Playa, where [large] rocks leave tracks across the dried lake bed.
