Dan Photographing the Ansel Adams Tree, Merced River, Yosemite National Park, CA (2007)
I give Sheryl all the credit for this photo. The tree is a famous one in Yosemite Valley, being one captured by Ansel Adams in his photograph "Early Morning, Merced River", c.1950. The location of the tree is not marked in any way, but Sheryl spotted it along our drive as we scoured the 1,000's of trees lining the banks of the Merced. How she found it, I still do not know.
I own a print of this scene made from Ansel's original negative, printed by his assistant Alan Ross. Can't quite cut the $7,500 price for a signed original. But it's from the same negative - I'm happy!
