We hiked the Lower Calf Creek Trail explicitly to see this magnificent waterfall. After years of seeing countless others' photos of this desert waterfall, we wanted to experience it for ourselves.

The hike is 6 miles roundtrip through a beautiful lush canyon in Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. At the end of the trail is this 130 foot high spring-fed waterfall spilling out into a desert oasis. Being spring-fed, the waterfall flows full throughout the year with pristine clear waters and sand floor, making it the perfect place to take a chilly dip at the end of the hike.

It's a difficult decision how best to photograph the falls since every view, closeup or from afar is equally stunning. So I took lots and lots of photos...
