Sheryl Entering Goblin Valley, UT (September 10, 2016, 4:45 pm)

Sheryl Entering Goblin Valley, UT (September 10, 2016, 4:45 pm)

Most of my landscape photos are about just that - the landscape. Occasionally, I'll take a photo that goes beyond the obvious such as this. Goblin Valley is the type of place that invites exploration and this photo of Sheryl heading into the valley speaks to that. It wasn't staged, it wasn't planned. She was walking ahead of me and by the time I had readied my camera and snapped the photo, she had positioned herself perfectly within the frame and never knew it.

It's a favorite because it reminds me of how we spend our vacations exploring new places.
