Holy Water Font, San Antonio Missions National Historic Park, San Antonio, TX (February 12, 2016, 10:29 am)

I love every element of this scene - the hand-applied adobe wall, the cross carved into the wet adobe, the handmade holy water font and the lighting of the overall scene.

Every aspect of the church speaks of a structure that has seen much throughout history. The front door to the church (to the left of the frame) is normally kept closed. My first exposure was made by available, dim light within the church. With my camera setup, a visitor walked in and this section of the wall just glowed. After those folks left, I had Sheryl keep the door open roughly 6" to allow the natural light in. For me, the addition of the light makes the photo come alive.
