Granary Window, San Antonio Missions National Historic Park, San Antonio, TX (February 12, 2016, 2:07 pm)
We walked into the restored granary building - an enormous room reminiscent of a fine ballroom. At the far end was the only window at ground level (three others were 12 feet or so off the ground to allow for light to enter without baking the grain being stored.)
But this window was original to the building and allowed the most beautiful light to enter, bathing the rough walls with a glow that reminded me of an old world oil painting.
I'm torn between which I prefer - the original color image capture or this black & white version, but in the end I feel the black & white version captures the mood and age of this beautiful alcove.
