Runoff Waterfall, Capitol Reef National Park, UT

Runoff Waterfall, Capitol Reef National Park, UT

Shot from the safety of our car, this shot is a favorite partly due to what we endured just before taking this. Coming down from the Burr Trail switchbacks in Capitol Reef, we entered this massive canyon just as a mammoth hail storm struck. We drove a few miles, assuming we'd find some sort of shelter, but could find none. 20 minutes later, hail was still pelting our car and the entire canyon was now coated in slushy ice. Along the canyon walls, spontaneous waterfalls appeared including this one.
