Totem Pole and Yei-bi-chei, Monument Valley, UT/AZ (September 19, 2016, 6:37 pm)
What makes this image a favorite is quite simple - I love the color. In particular, the bold dark orange tones of the Totem Pole and Yei-bi-chei against a very pastel background of a pale blue sky and lavender hills.
I also love the fact that there is no frame of reference to the size of this rock formation - the totem pole (on the left) rises 381 feet above the desert floor.
