Made earlier the same day as the previous sunset photo, this little building was something that I passed regularly on my way to the town of
DeKalb from my home. Previously, the lighting was never quite right, items strewn on the porch were distracting, etc.
This same day, the heavy snow blanket and a sense of peacefulness and simplified the composition. Sadly, this building no longer looks the same. An awning has since been added and changes have been made that altered its look of "arrested decay".
It serves as one of the many reminders to me to photograph things when you have the chance. I have a growing list of scenes that have slipped away before I had the chance to photograph them.
