After attending an IT conference in Salt Lake City, I extended my trip for a few days and headed down to Moab to visit
Arches and
Canyonlands National Parks. An unexpected snowstorm blew in overnight and I awoke Easter Saturday to thick snow on the ground.
I made a beeline to Arches and found this desert paradise blanketed by the rare late season snow. I photographed frantically, along with a couple dozen photographers. By early afternoon, only faint traces of this heavy snow remained.
It was one of the most energizing experiences I've had and the photographs from that morning are among my favorites.
