Pectol's Pyramid at Sunset, Capitol Reef National Park, UT (September 11, 2016, 8:56 pm)
Another 9/11 image - we slammed on the breaks of our vehicle when we spied this dramatic scene at sunset...
From the "front", Pectol's Pyramid is a towering monolith high upon a cliff in Capitol Reef. This view into the canyon behind shows the backside of the pyramid. With the last rays of the sun striking the triangle and a perfectly lit cloud above, the scene burned into our brains even more so than this final image.
